Register a report source

A source is a test tool that sends diagnostic reports to DoesItOmarchy. Ask for a source key here. A maintainer reviews every request by hand, and you collect the key from a private link.

What makes a useful source

It runs on Omarchy, on a real Intel Mac, and checks the criteria it can: by itself where it can, by asking the tester where it can't.
It reads the Mac's hardware IDs (model identifier, board ID, CPU and PCI IDs), so each report finds its configuration.
It says what it saw: the evidence for anything that fails or only partly works.
It shows testers the consent notice and lets them stop before anything is sent.
Its source code is public, so testers and maintainers can see what it checks.

The technical details are on the API page: becoming a source, submitting a report and the report format.

Test tool API key request

Tool name Your tool's public name. It's shown on every report it sends, as "via Mac Tester". Source ID A short, permanent identifier for your tool in the API and in report files, e.g. mac-tester: 2–32 lower-case letters, digits and hyphens, starting with a letter. Suggested from the tool name as you type; change it if you like. Source code Homepage (optional) Contact email Only maintainers see it, to reach you about your key or your reports. See privacy. What does it test? Which of the test criteria your tool checks, and how: automatically, by asking the tester, or with test equipment such as a loopback plug. It doesn't need to cover them all; say what's planned, too. Up to 1,000 characters. Consent notice. Your tool must inform users via a consent notice before it sends anything, and send only results from real test runs on real hardware.

Next you get a private link. It's shown only once, so have somewhere safe ready to keep it: it shows the maintainers' decision and, once approved, your key (also shown once). Each source may submit up to 60 reports an hour.
