· Charging over USB-C, judged per Mac
Any USB-C port can charge these Macs, and charging doesn't go through the Thunderbolt controllers that split the 2016-2020 MacBook Pros' ports into left and right pairs. So one port that charges now covers every USB-C port on the Mac, and a port that won't charge while another does is flagged as a possible hardware fault.
- Each USB-C port has its own power-delivery chip, and all of them feed one charger run by the SMC. Linux has no driver for these chips: none of 219 machines in the Linux hardware probes (linuxhw) loads one, so charging works the same whatever the OS.
- Apple: "any of them can be used for charging" (support.apple.com/en-us/102397).

· Plain names in lists
The list of all Intel Macs and search results now name every Mac by size, season and year, such as MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016). Each Mac's page keeps Apple's full name, which is what About This Mac shows, such as MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports).
- MacBookPro15,3 and MacBookPro16,4 are now called what Apple calls them: MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) and MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019). The catalog had added "with Radeon Pro Vega" and "with Radeon Pro 5600M"; the identifier and GPU already tell them apart.
-
· OpenGL ES level per GPU
Every GPU now records the highest OpenGL ES version its Linux driver reaches. Hyprland, Omarchy's desktop, has needed OpenGL ES 3.0 since version 0.50, so the 29 configurations whose GPU reaches only 2.0 carry a known-limitation note, as do the Mid 2010 MacBook Pros, whose Intel GPU can't run it. The notes change no status; only tests do. Search gles:2.0 to list them.
- Levels come from Mesa's feature list (docs/features.txt): 2.0 for the GMA 950, GMA X3100, Arrandale Intel HD Graphics, Radeon X1300/X1600/X1900 and GeForce 7300/7600 GT and Quadro FX 4500; 3.0 for the HD 3000 and 4000, Radeon HD 2000-4000 and GeForce 8 to GT 330M; 3.1 for Radeon HD 5000-6000 and Kepler; 3.2 for later Intel and AMD GPUs.
- Hyprland 0.50 release notes: "Hyprland now requires at least GLES 3.0 to function" (hypr.land/news/update50).
- The GPU acceleration criteria now say what passing means: Hyprland renders on the GPU in hardware, at OpenGL ES 3.0 or later, not with the llvmpipe software renderer.

· Board IDs per release
Where real machines show it, a board ID now belongs to the release it identifies, so Identify my Mac and test reports can tell apart releases that share every part, such as the 21.5- and 27-inch Late 2009 iMacs with the Radeon HD 4670. A report whose board belongs to another release of the Mac is flagged for review.
- Evidence: Linux hardware probes (linuxhw), at least 3 machines per board, each tied by its firmware screen mode, GPU or CPU.
- iMac (Late 2009): Mac-F2268CC8 is the 21.5-inch (34 machines), Mac-F2268DC8 the 27-inch (16).
- iMac (2009): Mac-F2218FA9 and Mac-F2218FC8 are the 24-inch Early 2009. Mac-F2218EA9 is both 20-inch releases (Early and Mid 2009); Mac-F2218EC8 the 20-inch Early 2009.
- iMac (Early 2008): Mac-F226BEC8 is the 20-inch, Mac-F227BEC8 the 24-inch. iMac (Mid 2007): Mac-F4238CC8 is the 20-inch, Mac-F42386C8 the 24-inch.
- MacBook Pro (Early 2008): Mac-F42C89C8 is the 15-inch. MacBook (Mid 2007): Mac-F4208CAA. iMac (20-inch, Early 2006): Mac-F42787C8.
- Not tied, for want of evidence: MacBook (Late 2006) Mac-F4208CA9, MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2008) Mac-F42C86C8, both iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch) boards, and the other 2006 iMac boards.

· Audio over DisplayPort and Thunderbolt
92 configurations gain the "Audio over HDMI / DisplayPort" criterion: Macs whose Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt or USB-C port carries sound to an HDMI or DisplayPort display. It had applied only to Macs with an HDMI port and eight 2010 models.
- Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 (MacBook Air Late 2010 to 2015, MacBook Pro 2011 to 2012, iMac 2011 to 2015, Mac Pro 2010 and 2012): Apple's "Send audio and video to HDMI displays through Mini DisplayPort" (support.apple.com/HT202079) lists them. Linux hardware probes agree.
- The 2008 and 2009 models with Mini DisplayPort (MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro) send video only, as Apple's article says; probes from them show no HDMI or DisplayPort audio. They keep the criterion off.
- MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017) is the same hardware as the 2015 model, which Apple lists; 236 of 247 probes show HDMI and DisplayPort audio.
- Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C (MacBook 2015 to 2017, MacBook Air 2018 to 2020, MacBook Pro 2016 to 2020, iMac 2017 to 2020, iMac Pro): Apple's "Connect to HDMI from your Mac" (support.apple.com/108928) connects HDMI through the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and picks the HDMI device for sound output. Probes from every model with probes show HDMI and DisplayPort audio.
- Mac Pro (Mid 2010, Mid 2012): the Mini DisplayPorts are on the graphics card. The cards Apple fitted support audio; others may not.

· Omarchy channels, and Thunderbolt 1
Reports can come from any Omarchy channel: stable, rc, beta, edge or dev. Every version now reads the same everywhere, with its channel: Omarchy 4.0.4 (stable), 4.0.4rc2 (rc), 4.0.0.r6713.ga85e29a (edge). Verdicts count stable releases only; where a newer build on another channel has a different result, the criterion says so on its own line. The first Thunderbolt version is now called Thunderbolt 1, and searching for a port by name finds every Mac with it: "thunderbolt 2", "tb2", "firewire 800", "mini displayport".
-
· Fix tracking
Each test criterion now names the part whose driver usually decides it (the audio codec for speakers, the Wi-Fi chip for Wi-Fi, the T2 bridge for Touch ID, and so on), so one fix issue in doesitomarchy/wecanfixeverything covers every Mac with that part. Failed criteria show who is working on a fix, and ask for a re-test once one lands.
-
· Port map drawings
Original, to-scale line drawings of where every port sits, for the 140 releases with a port layout. Each model page shows its drawing with every port coloured by its test results, and offers it as an SVG download (CC BY-SA 4.0).
- Laptops are drawn from both sides as closed machines, Mac minis from the back, iMacs from the lower left of the back (and the right edge, for the 2009–2011 SD slot), and Mac Pros as front and back panels.
- Chassis sizes come from Apple Tech Specs; port positions were read off the photos and diagrams in Apple's manuals.
-
· Port layouts
Physical port layouts for 140 of the 154 Intel Mac releases, read from Apple's own manuals (and, for the Mid 2007 15-inch MacBook Pro, from a real machine): every connector by side and position, with the ports that share a controller grouped, so one test covers each group.
- Connectors are named by side and numbered left to right as you face that side (top to bottom on a Mac Pro), e.g. left-2 or back-5.
- Every layout adds up exactly to the configuration's ports. That check found a mistake: Mac Pros from 2006 to 2013 have two analog audio outputs (a headphone jack and a line out), not one.
- Ports that share a controller form a group, and one passing port covers its group. The exceptions to one group per port type are the Macs with two Thunderbolt 3 controllers (12 releases), found from Linux hardware probes.
- Not yet laid out: the other 2006–2007 MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models and 2006–2007 Mac Pros (no manual on Apple's site), Xserve, the 2013 Mac Pro (its guide shows the ports without labels) and the 2019 Mac Pro (its ports depend on the modules fitted).
-
· MacBook Pro
All 41 Intel MacBook Pro identifiers (2006–2020), 55 releases and 57 configurations, split by graphics chip and screen size.
- The 2006 Core Duo models (MacBookPro1,1 and 1,2) can't run Omarchy (32-bit CPU); MacBookPro2,1 and 2,2 have 32-bit EFI and need a boot shim.
- The Apple T1 chip is only on the 2016–2017 Touch Bar models (13,2, 13,3, 14,2, 14,3); the two-port 13-inch models have no T1.
- Apple's identification page files the MC118 (2.53 GHz, Mid 2009) under MacBookPro5,3; it is MacBookPro5,4, the GeForce 9400M-only model.
- OpenCore's database lists the Radeon Pro 555X/560X for MacBookPro15,3; real machines and EveryMac show the Vega 16/20 only.
- MacBookPro3,1 to 5,2 use a Realtek ALC889A audio codec; the 2016–2017 models use a Cirrus Logic CS8409.
-
· Xserve
All 3 Intel Xserve identifiers (2006–2009). They are listed and testable but outside the coverage scope.
- No Xserve has audio outputs, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, so those criteria don't apply.
- Xserve1,1 has 32-bit EFI and needs a boot shim.
-
· Mac Pro
All 7 Intel Mac Pro identifiers (2006–2019), one configuration per graphics card Apple sold, 25 in all.
- Every 2006–2012 Mac Pro uses a Realtek ALC889A audio codec; the 2013 model uses a Cirrus Logic CS4208.
- Same-chip cards share a configuration (Vega II and Vega II Duo; W6800X and W6800X Duo).
- The 2019 tower and rack models are one release; their internals are identical.
-
· iMac Pro
The iMac Pro (2017), with a configuration per graphics chip.
- The Radeon Pro Vega 56 and Vega 64 are different chips, so the Vega 64 upgrade is its own configuration.
- 10Gb Ethernet (Aquantia AQC107) is standard.
-
· MacBook
All 11 Intel MacBook identifiers (2006–2017), 14 configurations.
- Only the 2.4 GHz aluminum Late 2008 MacBook (MB467) has a backlit keyboard, so it is its own configuration.
- The 12-inch MacBook's keyboard and trackpad use SPI and its Bluetooth uses UART, not USB.
-
· iMac
All 32 Intel iMac identifiers (2006–2020), 45 releases and 67 configurations.
- The iMac6,1 (24-inch, Late 2006) has an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT or 7600 GT; OpenCore's database lists a Radeon.
- 2017–2019 iMacs use a Cirrus Logic CS8409 audio codec, which Linux often drives with a generic fallback.
-
· MacBook Air
All 15 Intel MacBook Air identifiers (2008–2020), 20 configurations.
- Apple's identification page lists the MC505 under Mid 2009; it is the 11-inch Late 2010 model.
- The 2020 model is two configurations, by graphics (Iris Plus G4 with the Core i3, G7 with the Core i5 and i7).
- The Late 2010 models have no keyboard backlight.
-
· Mac mini
All 11 Intel Mac mini identifiers (2006–2018), the first batch of the catalog.
- Mid 2011 is three identifiers; the quad-core Server (Macmini5,3) has HD Graphics 3000.
- The Late 2014 model is two configurations: HD Graphics 5000 on the 1.4 GHz model and Iris 5100 on the others.
- Macmini3,1 uses a Realtek ALC889A audio codec and the Late 2012 models a Cirrus Logic CS4206.
